Job description
As a Creditors Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining and reconciling supplier accounts by processing and recording creditor transactions accurately and timeously. You will ensure supplier payments are made on time, resolve account discrepancies, and support financial reporting by keeping organized, audit-ready records.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing & Data Capturing:
- Match invoices with system orders to ensure accuracy.
- Process invoices with correct VAT classification, cost centers, and ledger allocations.
- Ensure invoices are captured in the correct month to facilitate timely payments.
Creditors Transactions & Reconciliation:
- Capture supplier discounts, interest charges, and payments.
- Reconcile supplier statements and ensure outstanding items are resolved.
- Submit reconciliations to the Creditors Supervisor for approval.
Supplier Liaison & Query Resolution:
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies and outstanding queries.
- Investigate and correct account errors.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Creditors Supervisor or Financial Manager.
Record-Keeping & Compliance:
- Maintain organized supplier ledgers and financial documentation.
- Ensure records are readily available for audits and compliance checks.
- Adhere to health, safety, and quality management systems.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric) required.
- A financial qualification is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum two years’ experience in creditors/accounts payable.
