Job description

Job Purpose

To ensure engineering integrity, optimal uptime, and reliable performance of the packaging lines. This includes leading asset care initiatives, managing maintenance activities, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance to quality, food safety, and legal standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Asset Care

  • Lead the implementation and compliance of asset care plans.
  • Ensure equipment reliability to produce to plan through PM strategy.
  • Develop team capabilities and address training needs.
  • Drive adherence to maintenance schedules, predictive strategies, and engineering change processes.
  • Monitor outsourced service providers and ensure high performance.

Stores & Inventory

  • Manage stores inventory and execute 6S principles.
  • Ensure critical spares as stock items.
  • Establish reorder levels, source quotations, and track stock movements.

Housekeeping & Safety

  • Enforce compliance with OSH Act, food safety standards, and company safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and address unsafe practices.

Quality & Administration

  • Oversee engineering quality control, process improvements, and documentation.
  • Compile weekly and monthly reviews, liaise with suppliers, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Food Safety & Quality Culture

  • Foster a proactive safety and quality environment.
  • Participate in training and ensure full compliance with quality standards and audits.

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12 with Maths & Science
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Trade Test
  • Experience in technical maintenance and asset care
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and MP Vision 9.8 Enterprise
