The purpose of the job will be to ensure effective and efficient operations of the company’s trucks to deliver complete allocated product loads to customers on time. The role also includes to act proactively in providing exceptional customer service through deliveries, and to maintain the cold chain right up to the customer receiving the desired products.

• Ensure structured load planning, departure time(s), timeous and effective communication, efficient driving, professional handling of customer complaints/queries, accurate product deliveries and liaison with customer(s), ensure PODs are returned. 

• Drive within the green band (85 %) of the trip with minimum idling, no harsh braking/acceleration, no external fill ups, ensure the fridge is switched off when loading or offloading.

• Ensure customers sign trip journals, monitor the fridge temperature hourly and check the product temperature at receiving stage.
• Adhere to the product return control procedure.

• Perform pre-trip and post trip inspections (daily) and communicate any maintenance/tyre issues to the relevant personnel promptly, communicate preventative maintenance requirements, report all accidents promptly and follow the correct procedures.
• Ensure the truck is washed and disinfected daily. 

• Ensure safe & legal operation of vehicle, 
• Safeguard the company product(s) and property.
• Ensure safety of all people in the vehicle.

Qualification:

• Grade 12

• Valid Code 14 driver's license and PrDP

 

Experience

• Must have driving experience

• Cold chain working experience (advantageous)
