Job description
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Machine and Process Management
- Oversee the daily operation, ensuring optimum equipment performance, reliability, and uptime.
- Coordinate autonomous and preventive maintenance in partnership with engineering teams, ensuring operators are trained on routine machine care and fault detection.
- Analyse equipment performance trends (OEE, downtime, efficiency), lead RCA (Root Cause Analysis) on recurring breakdowns, and escalate issues requiring specialist intervention.
- Participate in maintenance planning and postmortems, and ensure technical documentation is up to date.
🔹 Leadership and Team Performance
- Lead a team of machine operators, artisans, and team leaders with a clear focus on discipline, accountability, and high-performance culture.
- Conduct daily shift meetings using structured agendas to communicate production priorities, performance, and safety issues.
- Apply care and growth principles to mentor, coach, and develop your team, ensuring coverage of at least 3 processes by 2 people (3x2 matrix).
- Drive performance management practices through regular one-on-ones, training gap closure, and development plans.
- Uphold team discipline and embed a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and pride in operational excellence.
🔹 Quality, Safety, and Compliance
- Enforce ISO, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and Twizza's Food Safety Management System standards across shifts.
- Ensure execution and verification of quality checks, CCPs, and OPRP monitoring activities.
- Investigate non-conformances and quality complaints, leading CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) with traceable follow-through.
Minimum requirements
🧠 Minimum Requirements
- Experience: At least 5 years in a production or maintenance leadership role in FMCG
- Proven experience managing the operations, with strong technical understanding and ability to lead machine performance initiatives.
- High emotional intelligence and people management skills, with a strong command of conflict resolution, coaching, and development practices.
- Tech-savvy with data-driven decision-making skills and working knowledge of production KPIs.
